Hi Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the beginning of a Wonderful Summer. Things have been getting quite busy around here, as more people seem to be "sprucing up" their houses. We have lots of things to tell you about, so here I go.
Who would have thought that our most popular flag would be the Tie-Dyed Peace Sign? We have both the Standard and Garden Size. They've been selling like hotcakes (well, it is the 50th Anniversary of the first Peace Symbol). We have Standing Poles for holding both large and small sizes, if you would rather put them in your garden or on the lawn, instead of hanging them from the house. We have many different flags and poles, in addition to the ones mentioned.
Time to show your Patriotism, and we've extended our Americana selections to both inside and out. We've hung Slates and Uncle Sams outside, along with Large Galvanized Milk Cans, filled with Red, White and Blue Carnations. We have beautiful Pictures, featuring Flags or Patriotic Sayings. There are Throws, Pillows, Placemats---all with a Patriotic Theme. You'll even find Red, White and Blue Birdhouses. Our Patriotic Corner at the back of the Store is filled to the brim, and we've brought some Freedom-Themed items to our Tall Green Hutch, near the Indoor Porch Room. AND, we've added more to the Indoor Porch, too. Hope you can get the "feeling" with some of these pictures.
Sounds like a singing group, but have you Counted Crows lately? That raven is still very popular, all through the year. We've given them a section right next to our Pineapples, as some of them overlap each other. You'll find Plates, Linens, Stacking Boxes, Coasters, Stoneware and more.
We just came back from Pennsylvania, and brought lots of great things. Our Amish friends had some lovely new pieces of furniture for us. We have Benches, Corner Cabinets, CD Cabinets (narrow ones, that people have also been using in their Bathrooms for extra towels, toilet paper, etc.), more Mirrors, etc. These are wonderful pieces at good prices. One of the newer colors they're using is a Sandy, or Buff....very well-received.
More people have been looking for Iron items, so we've been adding to that section. We have Candle Holders, Hooks, Pie Holders, Pot Hangers, even Etageres. Look for this area to grow in the future (as soon as I can figure out what to move around). Our hooks have always sold well, as they're so useful (just can't get a picture of the spot where they are).
The Farm Table has undergone a new look, as well. We've made a Geranium-themed area, with Placemats, Throws, Pillows...and lots of Flowers. It has a nice, fresh look....and, of course, we let a few Bunnies into the area. I love the color of geraniums through the Summer.
Joe is the Clock person in the family...so he's in charge of adding to stock in that department. We've outgrown the wall in the one room, and scattered some around the Store. There are some lovely Sage-colored ones in our Grape/Harvest Room, as well as others atop pieces of furniture.
That's about all for this edition...but I will be adding more pictures in the next few weeks.
As we were traveling on the back roads in Lancaster County last week, we encountered this lovely covered bridge (on a new road for us). We thought you might like to see it. Have a great Summer.
Joe and Joan
